Privacy Policy

DoorQuest is designed to work without passenger accounts or cruise booking information. This policy explains the limited information used to run a voyage.

Information DoorQuest uses

• Voyage setup information entered by the organizer, including ship name, sailing date, itinerary, and game settings.
• A random player identifier stored on the player’s device, an automatically generated sea-creature nickname, answers, scores, polls, and game progress.
• Optional guestbook messages, a two-letter home state or territory, and digital-duck choices.
• Basic server records needed for security and reliability, such as request time and network address.

Information DoorQuest does not request

DoorQuest does not request real names, email addresses, phone numbers, cabin numbers, cruise reservations, precise GPS location, photos, videos, payment details, or cruise-line account access. Guestbook filters reject contact information and cabin numbers when detected.

How information is used

Information is used only to operate the selected voyage, display its anonymous leaderboard and guestbook, prevent duplicate entries, protect the service, and troubleshoot problems. DoorQuest does not sell personal information and does not use third-party advertising.

Sharing and visibility

Players using the same voyage code can see generated nicknames, scores, optional home states, poll totals, and guestbook messages. The voyage organizer can see guestbook entries and digital ducks from the private dashboard. Do not submit information you want kept private.

Children and family use

DoorQuest is intended for family participation supervised by the adult organizing or accompanying the voyage. It is not intended to collect a child’s real-world contact information. Children should not enter real names, contact details, cabin numbers, or other identifying information.

Storage, deletion, and control

Voyage information remains on the DoorQuest server until the organizer resets the voyage or the operator removes it. The organizer’s reset control permanently deletes players, answers, polls, guestbook entries, and digital ducks for that voyage. Players should ask their voyage organizer to request removal of voyage content.

Security

DoorQuest uses HTTPS, private owner links, hashed recovery keys, request limits, restricted browser permissions, and content filtering. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so organizers should protect dashboard and recovery links.

This policy may change as DoorQuest develops. The effective date above identifies the current version.
